Brief:

The mission and aim of the Thinking Hand NGO Talk Series is to empower and educate people, and especially students. Talk series will be on various topics starting from (Questioning Why? How? What?) Architecture, Design, Landscape, Environment, Thesis, Theory, Practice, Sustainability and more. A platform to discuss openly, voice and think deeply, critically in a more constructive way. The panel members will be from various disciplines, Institutions and backgrounds to talk and discuss various topics in conversation with Thinking Hand NGO founder Santosh Kumar Kumar and the event supported by studio Ketham’s Atelier Architects.

Its totally online talk and conversation for one hour (30 minutes lecture and 30 minutes conversation with Q&A).

Carl Smith:

Carl Smith, Ph.D., is Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design. He is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and a Chartered Geographer, both in the United Kingdom. He has wide, international experience in the practice, teaching and research of landscape and urbanism. Smith has served as a visiting professor or critic at a number of design institutions domestically and internationally, while his scholarship has been recognized through appointments at the Dumbarton Oaks Research Center and Library at Harvard University, the British School at Athens, and the American Academy in Rome. Smith is the co-editor of The Field, a peer-reviewed online journal from the ASLA. In addition to his primary role in the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, Smith holds the title of Adjunct Professor of Geosciences at the University of Arkansas, and he is the ArchiScape Visiting Professor of Architecture at the School of Architecture, University of Sheffield, UK (2020-2024).
